Your home’s foundation is one of the most important elements of the structure. Typically, we find that the foundation of a home is low on the list of priorities and receives little attention because it is less visible than the rest of the house. As one client said “Money that is taken out of the foundation can be put into doorknobs”. In order to properly design a foundation, there needs to be an inspection of the lot, an assessment of the foundation soil, and a review of the home’s architecture. In order for foundations to be sound, they need either solid support from stable geological formations or isolated from the effects of expansive soil.
